Directed by a woman, Erika Lust, “Cabaret Desire” looks at women and sex with sensuality and aesthetics, proving that porn can truly be artistic.

We’re probably more in the realm of erotic, rather than bona fide porn cinema, even though all scenes are just as explicit as you’d expect them to be. “Cabaret Desire” is a pretty libertine place, where employees tell erotic stories to whomever wants to listen: it is these stories which represent the explicitly hard scenes of the production.

The movie is elegant, far from the amateurial gonzos that have inundated the web in recent years, and it entirely deserved the price of “Best Movie” at the 2012 “Feminist Porn Awards”.

Intelligent, beautiful, funny, young and transgressive, even those who are not particularly into porn will enjoy this beautifully thought and crafted film.
